Just a stroll by the river...

...and Diamond. Smiling.

There are several things I don't like about this; Millie's face, Diamond's hands and cane... on the other hand I love how Millie's coat turned out, and Diamond's horrible little scarf still makes me smile.

 I really like the concept of these two relaxing together, for some reason. Neither are very happy at heart but for some reason the thought of them on a walk, Diamond telling some far-fetched story or making a not-quite but close-enough pun, and Millie acting skeptical or exasperatedly amused but honestly enjoying herself just... Meh. Somebody in Abime Spire deserves some happiness, dang it.

And they're drawn in human form in civvies because, well, it worked well for the situation and the project and in any case the emotions just convey better with it. That's what I'm running into a lot with these characters, actually. Their interactions and emotions show up so much better as humans, but their personalities are so heavily influenced by what they are that... I don't know. I'm still debating. In the meantime I'll just keep drawing their real forms for the challenge and them as humans whenever the impulse strikes me, I guess.
